Winter has arrived outside and in our preschool classroom! We started our Winter theme by decorating our classroom with lots of blue snowflakes that sparkle in the sun. We read the Missing Mitten Mystery by Stephen Kellogg and created our own snowmen to go along with the story. We also read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. We talked about what we like to do in the snow and created our own character like Peter in the book. The project will be sent home in your child's folder today.
All our centers have been transformed into a winter wonderland. Lots of fun skating on our preschool ice rink and ice fishing. We also have a classroom igloo with many arctic animals around. Don't Break The Ice was a hit at our game table and everyone loved chopping ice at the sensory table. Our math center focused on introducing a 10 frame and creating different number values. During small groups we worked on cutting practice, shape naming and sorting, and writing letters in snow. Comments are closed.
